Public Involvement This public involvement page together with the rest of the web site has been developed to keep you informed during the South Hancock Road Extension Project. Coordination will occur with local governments, permitting agencies, and the public during the study process. Newsletters will be mailed periodically to elected and appointed officials, property owners, interested persons and media. Public Meetings Lake County conducted a Public Meeting to present the initial design plans for the South Hancock Road Extension. The purpose of the meeting was to describe the progress of the project to date and to solicit public input concerning the design that will be developed for the project. The multi-disciplinary study team, consisting of planners, transportation engineers and environmental engineers, worked with the local residents, property owners, local officials, business owners and other interested parties to discuss the roadway design and how they relate to or impact the community. The comments from and the results of the meeting will be used to modify the roadway plans, as needed.
